COURSE OVERVIEW

Join internationally renowned art therapist Marian Liebmann for an experiential workshop exploring the many faces of anger—its meanings, physical signs, and the emotions beneath. Through art-making, guided visualisation, paired exercises, and group discussion, participants will gain a deeper understanding of anger in themselves and their clients.

We will examine personal and professional perspectives on anger, learn to identify and map its physical manifestations, and connect them to underlying emotions, unmet needs, and fears. The workshop also looks at how early life experiences and family dynamics shape current responses to anger.

Combining theory with creative, reflective, and community-based activities, this training offers practical strategies and tools for addressing anger in diverse therapeutic contexts. Open to therapists from all disciplines, it will leave you with a richer perspective, grounded insights, and creative methods to enhance your practice.

The participants to this workshop will be able to:
1. Identify and articulate at least three personal or cultural beliefs about anger and describe how these influence their therapeutic stance.
2. Accurately map at least five physical symptoms commonly associated with anger and explain their connection to underlying emotions, unmet needs, or fears.
3. Demonstrate the use of at least two art-based techniques (e.g., painting, guided visualisation) to explore and express anger in a therapeutic context.
4. Analyse the impact of early family patterns on current anger responses, providing at least two examples from reflective or creative exercises completed in the workshop.
5. Develop a brief intervention plan integrating creative and verbal methods for addressing anger with clients from diverse backgrounds and modalities.
