Creative Dialogues Series
with Sandra Buchanan
November 11, 6-7PM EST
Sandra Buchanan joins Creative Dialogues to share a professional journey in which creativity has never been separate from care, reflection, and human connection.
Before becoming an arts therapist, counsellor, and clinical supervisor, Sandra spent many years immersed in creative worlds — fashion, design, visual arts, and education. Over time, these experiences came together with a growing interest in how people make meaning, move through difficult experiences, and discover new ways of understanding themselves.
Her work has since taken her into areas including trauma-informed practice, grief and loss, cancer survivorship, neurodivergence, disability, and life transitions. Throughout, creativity has remained central as a way of listening, exploring, and making space for what may be difficult to express in words.
Sandra is also deeply engaged in reflective and arts-based supervision, supporting practitioners to think, feel, notice, and reflect through creative and experiential processes.
A PACFA Clinical Registrant and certified supervisor, Sandra has also contributed to the development of PACFA’s College of Creative and Experiential Therapies.
In this Creative Dialogue, we explore Sandra’s path into the profession, her relationship with creativity, and the possibilities that emerge when art becomes part of how therapists listen, reflect, and grow.
This session of Creative Dialogues will be recorded.
