Lucille Proulx, PhD, M.A., ATR, RCAT, HLM, is a distinguished Canadian art therapist, artist, and author with over tree decades of experience. She has worked extensively with children and parents in various settings, including community centers, private clinics, and the Department of Infant and Child Psychiatry at the Montreal Children’s Hospital. Lucille is the founder and Director Emeritus of the Canadian International Institute of Art Therapy (CiiAT) and its international programs in Thailand (IPATT) and Japan (JIPATT). She is an Honorary Life Member of both the Canadian Art Therapy Association (CATA) and the Association des arts-thérapeutes du Québec (AATQ). Lucille is also a registered art therapist in both Canada and the United States.
In 2024, she authored The Towel, a memoir that intertwines her personal journey with her professional evolution in art therapy. The book reflects on her French Canadian and Métis heritage, her experiences as a mother of eight, and her pioneering work in the field.
Lucille's contributions have been recognized with an honorary doctorate from the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM).
